Schenectady, NY (September 11, 2020) – Following approval by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC), Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has announced today that most of its table games are back in action for guest play. Table games were initially not available when the casino reopened its doors on Wednesday, September 9 following a nearly six-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re thrilled that Rivers Casino was able to meet, or exceed, all of the state’s safety requirements to get our table games back up and running,” said Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady General Manager, Justin Moore. “Table games are a big part of what makes for an exciting gaming experience at the casino and we’re confident that we are providing a safe and healthy entertainment environment for all our guests and Team Members”.

Starting at 6 p.m. tonight (Friday), guests will be able to play on all of the casino’s table games except for craps and roulette.

Plexiglass barriers separating players and dealers have been installed at all table games for safety, and guests will be required to sanitize their hands before and after play.

Rivers Casino’s new daily hours of operation is from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Downtime is being used for intensive property-wide deep cleaning in addition to the continuous sanitizing taking place  throughout each day. Rivers has instituted its extensive “Sure Bet Sanitized” cleaning program,  along with a number of other new operating procedures in order to comply with, or surpass, the state’s new COVID-19 casino reopening protocols.

The popular Rivers Sportsbook, including self-betting kiosks, has been reopened since Wednesday, along with slots throughout the main gaming floor.

The casino’s poker room has been converted into a new “Young at Heart Lounge” with slots and table games available exclusively for guests 55 and over. Companions will also be allowed entry.

Valet Parking, The Event Center, Mian, and Johnny’s To-Go, are not open at this time. Flipt, the casino’s burger and sandwich restaurant, is reopened with an enhanced menu, including select favorites from Duke’s Chophouse and pizza from Johnny’s To-Go. Duke’s Chophouse is also opened with a limited menu and reduced hours of operation.

The Landing Hotel will also be reopened on Friday, September 18, with all state required health and safety protocols in place.
