Schenectady, NY (July 28, 2025) - “We’re comin’ to your town; we’ll help you party it down; we’re an American band.” Capital Region rock ’n’ roll fans will hear these well-known lyrics when Grand Funk Railroad stops at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. Grand Funk Railroad, one of the top rock groups of the 1970s, brings the American Band Tour to the Rivers Casino Event Center on Thursday, October 30.

Pre-sale tickets for Grand Funk Railroad will be available for Rivers Rush Rewards members this Thursday, July 31, at 10 a.m., followed by a general public sale Friday, August 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $39, plus taxes and fees, and will be available at RiversCasino.com/Schenectady.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The high-energy five-piece group features original founding members Don Brewer (vocals and drums, writer and singer of the multimillion-selling hit “We’re An American Band”) and bassist Mel Schacher, “The God of Thunder.” Other all-star band members include Max Carl (vocalist), Mark Chatfield (guitarist), and Tim Cashion (keyboardist) — contributing to the continued success of megahits like “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home,” “The Loco-Motion,” and “Some Kind Of Wonderful.”
