Celebrate the Holiday Season all Month Long at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady

Schenectady, NY (December 1, 2020) – Every day is a holiday in December at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady where guests will enjoy special food offerings, a chance to help out their favorite local charities, a live eSports competition, and seasonal room packages at the Landing Hotel.

The casino’s current daily hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with downtime being used for intensive property-wide deep cleaning in addition to the continuous sanitizing taking place throughout the day. All guests are required to wear face coverings (masks).

Gaming Floor

The Rivers “Sure Bet Sanitized” Team continues to work around the clock to keep the casino safe and sanitized. In addition to slots throughout the gaming floor, guests are able to play on all of the casino’s table games including craps and roulette. Plexiglass barriers separating slot machines, players, and dealers have been installed for safety, and guests will be required to sanitize their hands before and after play. The casino’s poker room has been converted into a gaming lounge.

Events

The Landing Hotel Presents: Holiday Trees of Hope – Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady’s Landing Hotel celebrates the holiday giving season with its inaugural Holiday Trees of Hope charity fundraiser – an event that give guests the opportunity to help raise money for local community and charitable organizations. Special holiday trees, decorated by local community and charitable organizations, will be on display in the casino’s event center throughout the month of December. Guests will be able to vote for their favorite tree by purchasing special voting tokens at the Landing Hotel front desk or bar in $1 or $5 dollar amounts and drop them into a voting box next to their favorite tree. Each charity will receive all funds contained in their voting box. The tree/charity that receives the most tokens will also receive a bonus Rivers Casino Keeping Spirits Bright Charity Tree Award of $500. Sponsorship funds will also be divided equally between the charities. Donations to charities will be presented on Tuesday, December 29.

Electric City Classic – Rivers Casino & Resort will host the Electric City Classic, a single-elimination Madden NFL eSports tournament. The best EA Sports Madden NFL 21 video game players will be squaring-off on the virtual gridiron finals for cash and prizes at Van Slyck’s, next to the Rivers Sportsbook, on Saturday, December 12 from 2 p.m until 6 p.m. Local in-person registration, for a chance to earn the last spot in the live finals, will start at 11 a.m. on the day of the event. Former NY Giants defensive tackle and Super Bowl champion, Jay Alford, will join the voice of Madden Football and sportscaster, Larry Ridley, in the booth for play-by-play action from Rivers Casino as they broadcast live online. Rivers Sportsbook

The popular Rivers Sportsbook is open for guests to place bets on all NFL games and other major sporting events. Self-betting kiosks are open during the casino’s regular hours from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily, and manned betting windows are available daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. 

Food and Beverage

Mian, Johnny’s To-Go, and Van Slyck’s are not open at this time. Flipt, the casino’s burger and sandwich restaurant, is open with an enhanced menu, including select favorites from Dukes Chophouse and pizza from Johnny’s To-Go. Villa Italia is open daily from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Dukes Chophouse is also open with a limited menu and reduced hours of operation (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.).

Dukes Birthday Cake – During the month of December guests that dine at Dukes Chophouse on their birthday will receive a complimentary slice of chocolate cake with the purchase of an entrée. Guests must show proof of birthdate.

Taco Tuesday – Every Tuesday in December, guests can enjoy a Dr. Pepper Spiked Street Taco at Flipt for just $2. These delicious tacos, made with shredded pork, charred corn, poblano relish, fresh cilantro, queso fresco, and a Dr. Pepper chipotle sauce on top, are available during regular menu hours.

Wing Wednesday – Every Wednesday in December at Flipt guests can purchase wings for just 99 cents each. Must purchase in quantities of six. Available during regular menu hours.

Christmas Dinner at Dukes – Guests can enjoy a special Christmas Day dinner at Dukes Chophouse for $59. The special holiday entrée includes a 10 oz Prime Rib with jumbo crab meat. Dinner available from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on December 25. Regular dinner menu will also be available. Price does not include tax and gratuity. Advance reservations suggested.

Football Hot Dog special – During Football season guests will be able to purchase a hot dog for just $1 at The Landing Hotel Bar. Offer available every Sunday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Happy Hour at The Landing Hotel – Guests can purchase a glass of featured wine for $5 every Wednesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at The Landing Hotel Bar.

Entertainment

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions the Rivers Casino & Resort Event Center remains closed and all live entertainment is on hold until further notice. Previously scheduled entertainment and events during the temporary closure of the casino have been postponed until 2021.

The Landing Hotel
