Legendary R&B Singer Johnny Gill coming to Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady in January

Schenectady, NY (October 6, 2021) – It’s sure to be an unforgettable evening of R&B classics when Johnny Gill hits the stage at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Guests will be groovin’ to Gill’s unmistakable and unique trademark style that has altered the sound of R&B music for over three decades with a signature sound that pairs superior singing with extraordinary showmanship.

(the late Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat) and Heads of State (Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant), it’s easy to see why Johnny Gill serves as the prototype for the supreme R&B singer. He is the only artist that has been in three highly successful groups, achieving both international and critical acclaim as a solo artist and group leader.

Gill has received two Grammy Award nominations - one with New Edition and one as a solo artist. In 1991, he won two Soul Train Awards for Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Album of the Year – Male (for Johnny Gill) and Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Single (for "My My My"). In 2019, Gill won the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award for Album of the Year for Game Changer 2.
