Rivers Casino Team Members Plant Seeds For Growth

Team Members Lend a Helping Hand to Beautify Housing Community’s Outdoor Area

PITTSBURGH – July 29, 2014 – Rivers Casino Team Members will volunteer their time with The Northside Coalition for Fair Housing to plant and mulch the community’s outdoor area. The team of volunteers will lend a hand today, July 29, from 9 a.m.—4 p.m.

“As a Northside neighbor, we’re committed to helping groups like The Northside Coalition for Fair Housing in their efforts to beautify the community,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community development for Rivers Casino.

The Northside Coalition for Fair Housing is a resident-focused community development organization that works to improve the availability and accessibility of low-income and affordable housing in the Northside communities while improving the lives of families.

“Thanks to the support of Rivers Casino and other corporate contributors, we’re able to maintain the changing landscape of our community,” said Ronell Guy, executive director of the Northside Coalition for Fair Housing.

The planting is a part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Most recently, Rivers Team Members helped to clean up the riverbank in preparation for the Three Rivers Regatta. Earlier this year, the team packed boxes of food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and helped prepare meals at the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.
