RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH’S “RIVERS GIVES” VOLUNTEER TEAM LINKS UP WITH THE SALVATION ARMY AND WTAE’S PROJECT BUNDLE UP

PITTSBURGH — Nov. 3, 2021 — “Rivers Gives” volunteers from Rivers Casino Pittsburgh will be preparing for the brisk weather this year … on Thursday, Nov. 4, from noon to 2:30 p.m., the Rivers Gives team will volunteer with WTAE-TV’s Project Bundle Up by taking a group of senior citizens on a shopping trip for warm clothes at the Walmart at Pittsburgh Mills in Tarentum. This will be a joint initiative coordinated by The Salvation Army.

WTAE-TV’s Project Bundle-Up is a joint venture between WTAE-TV and The Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania. This program provides children, ages 18 and under, and seniors, ages 62 and over, with brand new winter outerwear.

This shopping trip experience will provide approximately 15 seniors with an opportunity to pick out brand new winter outerwear for the cold weather. Each Team Member will act as a guide, liaison and friend to the senior with whom they are partnered.

“Partnering with Project Bundle Up and The Salvation Army is one of our team’s favorite projects,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino. “We truly enjoy being able to make a difference in senior citizens’ lives this winter.”

This is the second day of service with Project Bundle-Up by the Rivers Gives team in recent years. Last month, Rivers Gives volunteers also worked with Center for Victims putting together care packages and instructional materials.

"Having the Rivers Gives team come out and support this cause is awesome,” said Victoria Gill, director of WTAE-TV’s Project Bundle-Up. “The smiles on the senior citizens’ faces makes for a great day of community service. We hope to keep as many people warm this winter as we possibly can.”
