RIVERS CASINO COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS ‘REDD UP’ THE RIVERFRONTS

Team Members Partner with Local Organizations for the Tireless Project

PITTSBURGH July 28, 2016 — Tomorrow, the Rivers Casino Community Champions will donate their time and effort to assist Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays clean the Pittsburgh shorelines in support of the Tireless Project, a regional movement to clean and beautify local waterways. From 9 a.m.—3 p.m., Team Members will be working to remove invasive plant species and debris from the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and Ohio riverfront.

The Tireless Project is a collaborative endeavor between several local organizations committed to stewardship of the rivers and streams in Allegheny County, including Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays.

“As one of many riverfront destinations on the North Shore, it is important to the Rivers team that we contribute our time and talents to keep the rivers and trails beautiful,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community development at Rivers Casino.

The cleanup is a part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Last month, the Community Champions partnered with the Larimer Consensus Group (LCG) to execute several landscaping projects as part of LCG’s “Love Your Block” initiative. In 2015, Team Members donated more than 1,000 hours through the Community Champions program.
