PITTSBURGH — Oct. 3, 2017 — Pittsburghers looking to join the fast-paced and thrilling gaming industry or those interested in learning about new career opportunities are encouraged to join Rivers Casino and Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) for their How to Become a Casino Dealer open house on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The open house will be held from noon-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the CCAC casino dealer training space located in the library (room L112) on CCAC’s Allegheny Campus. Individuals interested in attending the open house are encouraged to RSVP at www.riverscasino.com/pittsburgh/dealerschool.

Attendees are invited to meet Rivers Casino’s professional dealers and ask questions. Casino and CCAC staff will be available to explain the application process for the Nov. 6 course.

Rivers Casino Team Members with an average of 30 or more hours per week, are able to participate in the company’s medical plan, a dental plan with 100% preventative coverage, vision coverage and other great benefits. Full time Team Members are also eligible for discounted health club pricing and tuition reimbursement up to $5,000 after the first year.

“For those who enjoy a high-energy work environment, the casino industry is a great place to further your career,” said Craig Clark, general manager at Rivers Casino. “Our table dealers are sharp, passionate and fun people who thrive in a social atmosphere and we provide them with the tools necessary to excel.”

The 120-hour, six week introductory Blackjack and Banked Games course provides the foundation for starting a new profession as a table dealer. As part of the class, students complete the required Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) audition test. CCAC’s casino dealer training school is approved by the PGCB and is recognized by all casinos in the state, as well as some out-of-state casinos.

In 2016, Rivers Casino and CCAC began partnering to offer casino dealer classes. Since then, approximately 45 students have been hired by Rivers Casino as table games dealers through the program.
