Rivers Casino Hosts New End-of-Summer Events and Promotions

PITTSBURGH – July 31, 2015 – Keep the spirit of summer going at Rivers! Pittsburgh’s casino is celebrating its sixth anniversary this month with new gaming promotions, dining specials and live entertainment.

Gaming Promotions

$20,000 Wishful Wednesday Slot Tournaments – On Wednesdays in August, Rush Rewards members who earn 100 same-day base points can enter to play in one of two slot tournaments for a top prize of $1,000 cash. Earn 200 same-day base points to compete in both tournaments. Tournaments take place from 11 a.m.—2 p.m. and 6—9 p.m.

$100,000 Harley Summer Ride Drawings – On Wednesdays in August, every other hour between noon and 8 p.m., three winners will be selected to win various amounts of Free Slot Play and cash at the Gift Giveaway Stage. Rush Reward members will be eligible to win up to $2,500 cash, and one guaranteed winner will receive the top prize of a Harley Davidson Street 500 each Wednesday. Rush Reward members can earn entries from 6 a.m. on Aug. 1 until 7:59 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Gift Giveaways – Throughout August, invited guests and players who earn 1,250 same-day base points are eligible to pick up a gift. Receive a set of two duck feather pillows on Aug. 9; a set of queen sheets on Aug. 16; and a queen comforter in four available colors on Aug. 23. Guests must visit kiosks between 6 a.m.—8 p.m. to reserve their gifts. Gifts are available for pick-up from 10 a.m.—8 p.m. (While supplies last).

$100K 6th Anniversary Payout – Help celebrate Rivers’ sixth anniversary! Between Aug. 1—9, Rush Rewards members who earn 750 same-day base points are eligible to take a spin at the Payout Machine from 12—10 p.m. to win up to $1,000 cash. Players who receive three lucky anniversary symbols will win the Progressive Grand Prize—up to $10,000 cash. Don’t miss the finale drawings Aug. 8 and 9 at noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. The top prize at each drawing is $1,600 cash. At 8 p.m. on Aug. 9, the grand prize winner will receive the Payout Machine’s Progressive Amount.

$60,000 Candy Cash Giveaway – The traditional sixth anniversary gift is candy, so Rivers is making Thursday, Aug. 6 a sweet day. Players who earn 1,250 same-day base points are eligible to receive a chocolate candy gift. The top prize is $6,000 cash, and 600 winners will receive cash or Free Slot Play prizes.

Skyline T-Shirt Giveaway – On Sunday, Aug. 2, invited guests and Rush Rewards players who earn 1,250 same-day base points are eligible for a special skyline t-shirt as well as a chance to win cash and Free Slot Play. Guests must visit kiosks between 6 a.m.—8 p.m. to reserve their gifts. Gifts are available for pick-up from 10 a.m.—8 p.m. at the Gift Giveaway Center. (While supplies last).

In Case You Missed It Giveaway – On Thursday, Aug. 13, invited guests and Rush Reward players who earn 1,250 same-day base points are eligible to receive a BBQ grill set, air compressor, wine opener or snapware. Gifts are available for pick-up from 10 a.m.—8 p.m. (While supplies last).

August Birthday Celebrations – Happy Birthday to you! Any guests who visit the Rush Rewards Player Club on his or her birthday will receive a free coupon to visit Grand View Buffet.

$10 for $10 – On Aug. 4 and 5, guests who visit Rivers between 12—8 p.m. have the option to donate $10 cash to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to receive $10 Free Slot Play. NAMI aims to support and empower individuals with disabilities and their families.

Pittsburgh Proud – Throughout the month of August, guests can donate their extra slot vouchers and table chips to NAMI. The Pittsburgh Proud donation box is located between the two elevators that lead to the parking garage.

Table Games

$12,000 Table Games TV Tuesdays – Win cash or a new 60” TV! Every Tuesday, 10 winners will be selected. Earn entries when you play with your Rush Rewards card and hit a qualifying hand. Drawings will take place at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. The 60” TV will be given during the 9 p.m. drawing.

Learn to Play – Join in from 1—2 p.m. every day to learn a new game. Guests can learn to play Craps, Pai Gow Poker and Mini-Baccarat. Rush Rewards members will receive two $5 match play coupons. (Match play coupons can be picked up at the Rush Rewards Players Club. Vouchers can only be redeemed once for each game learned throughout 2015.)

Hot Shooters – Hot Shooters is Rivers’ exciting craps promotion. Every day, the top five “hot shooters” win match play and cash prizes. A Six Year Anniversary bounty of $6,000 will be paid out to the first person who rolls 80 or more consecutive rolls between 6 a.m. on Aug. 1 and 8:59 p.m. on Aug. 25.

• First Place: $100 match play and $100 cash
• Second Place: $50 match play and $50 cash 
• Third Place: $25 match play and $25 cash 
• Fourth Place: $10 match play and $10 cash
• Fifth Place: $10 match play and $10 cash

Table Games Party Pit – On Wednesdays and Thursdays in August from 6 p.m.—2 a.m., hot seat drawings will be held every 30 minutes to receive great prizes. The Party Pit also features $5 craps and blackjack. Throughout August, guests can earn entries into a special drawing at 9 p.m. on Aug. 27, when one person will win a trip to Las Vegas.

Shuffle Master Classic – All players who hit one of the qualifying hands until Aug. 15 will win a trip to Las Vegas to play in the $250,000 Shuffle Master Classic Three Card Poker National Championship event in September.

Poker Room

Cash Vault – On Saturdays in August, Rush Rewards members playing into live qualifying cash tables will be eligible to pick an envelope for a cash prize up to $1,000 every other hour from midnight to midnight.

Grand Slam of Cash – On Saturdays in August, guests playing at a live qualifying cash table are eligible to win up to $1,000 in cash drawings. Hot seat drawings will take place at noon, 3, 6 and 9 p.m.

Straight to the Cash – On Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, Rush Rewards members who make a straight at a live qualifying cash table will earn an entry into the Straight to the Cash drawing. One will player will win $500 cash at noon, 3, 6 and 9 p.m. 

Dining and Entertainment

Andrew’s Steak & Seafood 2 for $75 – From 5—9:30 p.m. on Thursdays in August, Andrew’s Steak & Seafood will offer a three-course meal for two for $75. Appetizers include flat bread, crispy calamari or crab cakes. Entrée choices include filet mignon, pan-roasted chicken breast or Skuna Bay salmon. For dessert, enjoy a Grand Marnier dark chocolate mousse or a caramelized banana crème brûlée.

Live from the Rivers – Rivers’ outdoor amphitheater will be wrapping up its “Live from the Rivers” free concert series this August. Concerts start at 7 p.m. and are open to guests of all ages. (Access to parking garage and casino building will remain limited to guests ages 21 and up.)
