Andrew’s Steak And Seafood At Rivers Casino Wins Wine Spectator Award Of Excellence For Second Year In A Row

Restaurant Offers Fresh, Local Take on Guest Favorites

PITTSBURGH — August 1, 2014 — Andrew’s Steak & Seafood, located inside Rivers Casino, received the prestigious Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. The full list of 2014 Restaurant Wine Award winners was revealed today in the publication’s August issue.

Restaurants that receive the Award of Excellence offer an interesting and diverse selection of 100 or more wines that are well-presented and thematically match the restaurant’s cuisine. Andrew’s sommelier, Jeffrey Dietz, has carefully developed a selection of more than 230 wines, with a particular strength from the California region.

“It’s an honor to receive this award for the second year in a row,” said Andrea Kleinrock, vice president of food and beverage at Rivers Casino. “We are continuously diversifying our wine list to deliver distinct and varied options for our guests.” 

Summer Menu Brings Fresh Twists

This summer, Andrew’s invites guests to satisfy their taste buds with new choices on the menu. Executive Chef Phillip Pierson has developed a menu that uses local, organic meats and the freshest herbs around — grown right outside of Andrew’s. Guests can sip on the finest varietals and enjoy their meals while overlooking the Ohio River. Highlights of the menu include:

• Yukon Gold Pierogi: truffle oil, fontina, rosemary sour cream
• Roasted Beet Salad: goat cheese croquette, arugala, pine nuts, white balsamic vinaigrette
• Pan Roasted Chicken Breast: with lemon fingerling potatoes, braised fennel, pink peppercorn cream 
• Seared Diver Scallops: with English pea and bacon grits, roasted shallots, maple reduction
• Skuna Bay Salmon: with orange sesame ginger linguini, bok choy, broccolini
