6/2 Monday Tournament Winner!

The winner of this weeks Monday Nite Tournament is Michio Cohen! He takes down the victory as part of a historic win for the Rivers Casino and Resort Poker Room. With the $3,591 taken home from Monday's tournament Michio is officially the all time leading money winner in Schenectady. This post will take some time to look at his greatest hits.

All the way back in April of 2018 Michio has his first big score at Rivers, taking 4th place in the $570.00 Monster Stack Tournament for $12,014. Four months later is June of 2018 he would make up for April, and take 1st place in the Monster Stack tournament for $23,755.

The next few years would have Michio winning a lot of smaller buy in daily tournaments, and coming up short in bigger events, with his biggest score coming in the $600.00 WPTDeepstack back in September of 2019 for $7,725.00.

Michio would start an incredible run in 2022 winning the inaugural Midweek Mayhem in December of 2022 for $19,840.00. One year later he would take home Midweek Mayhem III for $12,762.00.

Michio would pick up some smaller cashes and then win the opening event of the Electric City Poker Series by chopping with Shawn Deeb! He took home $23,028 as part of that chop.

Finally in April of 2025 Michio took 1st place in the first Electric City Mini Main for $16,242.00. This score put Michio a few thousand away from the all time record. And with the $3,591 from Monday, he is the all time record holder with $140,736. Congratulations Michio!
