Rivers Casino & Resort 2024 Community Impact Report

Rivers Casino & Resort 2024 Community Impact Report
Linda Waters | Vice President of Human Resources

2024 was a banner year for our Rivers Gives program. In fact, with over $265,000 in goods, services, and financial donations to more than 60 community organizations throughout the Capital Region, it was our best year ever since opening in 2017.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests and Team Members, we were able to raise well over $100,000 through our back-of-house and community fundraising events. Our Rivers Gives volunteers logged a new high of over 1,700 hours of service to local charitable groups.

Other 2024 highlights included helping out at the Capital Region Veterans Memorial as part of our corporate-wide Rivers Gives Day of Service, food donations to help in the fight against hunger, and providing clothing for shelters throughout the area.

Once again, I'm proud and humbled by our efforts to help those in need throughout the community. Giving back is such an important part of what we do at River Casino, and being able to do that while providing the best in gaming and entertainment is extremely gratifying.

A YEAR OF IMPACT

We provided $268,000 in goods, services, and financial donations to 65 local charitable organizations.

WHO WE SUPPORT

Our Region is rich with nonprofits that serve our community members. We take pride in supporting the work of many of these organizations through our three pillars of support:

-Health & Human Services

-Workforce Development & Economic Development

-Military & Veterans, First Responders & Public Servants

FOOD & CLOTHING DONATIONS

We donated $13,000 worth of food to essential workers and several local charitable organizations.

We donated clothing from lost and found and from our Wardrobe Department for an approximate total of $28,000 that directly benefited community members through several Capital Region organizations, including City Mission of Schenectady, interfaith Partnership for the Homeless and Joseph's House & Shelter.

FUNDRAISING

Our guests raised a total of $86,518 by participating in our monthly Donations Make a Difference fundraiser (supporting a different organization each month) by donating chips, vouchers, and cash in our donation boxes and ticket redemption machines.

Our Rivers Team Members raised nearly $20,000 from back-of-house charitable fundraisers throughout the year, including $7,577 from our Farmers Markets and $3,942 in support the American Cancer Society's Pinktober awareness campaign to support breast cancer research and treatment.

HOLIDAY GIVING

For many people, the holiday can be a very difficult time. Team Members helped to bring the joy of the holidays to community members who have the greatest need.

At Thanksgiving, Team Members filled a large pallet with nonperishable food donations to benefit Concerned for the Hungry, an entirely volunteer-run organization working to fight hunger in Schenectady County.

Through our Giving Tree program, Team Members purchased essential items for an approximate total of $3,500 to support Safe Inc. of Schenectady. an organization that provides outreach, shelter, counseling, and supportive services to homeless youth who are at-risk and may be vulnerable to or have been subjected to sexual exploitation and trafficking.

2ND ANNUAL RIVERS GIVES DAY OF SERVICE

Team Members spent a day supporting the Capital Region Veterans Memorial as part of a coordinated, synchronized community-giving event across all 5 Rush Street properties in 4 states.

SHOWING UP FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Team Members gave their time supporting events, sitting on boards and providing sweat equity by logging a total of 1,743 hours of volunteer service throughout the Capital Region.
