Rivers Casino Portsmouth expands partnership with Tidewater Community College

PORTSMOUTH, Va.—April 28, 2022—Rivers Casino Portsmouth, developed and operated by Rush Street Gaming, today announced plans to lease office space on the Portsmouth Campus of Tidewater Community College (TCC)—effective April 26. Rivers Casino’s TCC offices will provide a base of operations for casino staff until the new casino opens early 2023.

“Rivers Casino Portsmouth continues to make great progress toward becoming Virginia’s first full-service casino,” said Roy Corby, General Manager, Rivers Casino Portsmouth. “We’re grateful to TCC for providing readily available space so our team members can start working immediately. We’ve already accomplished a lot together, and more opportunities to collaborate are just ahead.”

In recent months, Rivers Casino has partnered with TCC on a series of workforce development initiatives and job information forums. Future plans are underway for TCC to host dealer training for table games and to introduce curricula that helps prepare students for Virginia’s rapidly expanding casino gaming industry.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth will occupy an approximately 2,090 square-foot space within the TCC Student Center – located at 120 Campus Drive. The casino’s interim offices will be located on the first and second floors (rooms E126, E212, E214, and E216).
