CALLING ALL HOUSEGUEST HOPEFULS: RIVERS CASINO PORTSMOUTH AND WTKR NEWS 3 TO HOST CBS’ “BIG BROTHER” OPEN CASTING, MAY 9

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — April 7, 2025 – Could you be the next Head of Household? In collaboration with WTKR News 3, Rivers Casino Portsmouth will host an in-person casting call for Big Brother, one of CBS’ most iconic reality competition shows. This marks Big Brother’s first time holding a casting call in Portsmouth, offering local fans a unique opportunity to audition in person.​

Auditions will take place at The Event Center at Rivers Casino Portsmouth on Friday, May 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Numbered wristbands will be distributed in order of arrival. 

Participants will have the chance to step in front of the camera and deliver a one-minute pitch explaining why they should be selected to join the cast of Big Brother Season 27. All auditioning participants will automatically be entered into a drawing to win an all-expense-paid trip for two to attend a live Eviction Night this summer at CBS Studio Center. The prize includes roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation. 

Big Brother casting producers will review all video auditions tapes, make any potential selections and handle notifications for the upcoming season.

Selection for this summer’s Big Brother travel prize will be made by random drawing. WTKR News 3 will notify and then announce the winner during Coast Live on Monday, May 12.

Special Appearance by Cirie Fields, Big Brother Season 25 Contestant 

Adding to the excitement at Rivers Casino on May 9, former Big Brother contestant and reality TV star Cirie Fields will make a special appearance during the casting call. Fields, renowned for her strategic gameplay and dynamic presence on multiple seasons of Survivor and, more recently, The Traitors, was also recently named one of Variety’s 40 Most Powerful Women in Reality TV. Fields will be on-site to share insight, offer audition best practices, and meet with fans.

Big Brother producers are looking for candidates with bold personalities, compelling backstories, and big energy who can captivate viewers and fellow Houseguests alike. Hopefuls are encouraged to bring enthusiasm, authenticity, and strong storytelling to their audition. 

Coast Live … Live from Rivers Casino Portsmouth on May 9

To kick off Rivers Casino’s Big Brother casting event, Coast Live, WTKR’s popular weekday lifestyle show, will broadcast on location from The Event Center at Rivers Casino on Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 10 am. Coast Live hosts April Woodard and Chandler Nunnally will be on-site engaging with the crowd and capturing the excitement of the casting call. The first 200 guests in line by 8:30 a.m. will have the opportunity to join the live studio audience of Coast Live.

Coast Live audience members also will be eligible to win special prizes courtesy of Rivers Casino Portsmouth and WTKR— including a 65” Flat Screen TV, a PlayStation®5, gift certificates to Admiral’s Steak & Seafood, tickets to the Stavros Halkias show on May 9, and more.

On-camera auditions for Big Brother Season 27 begin immediately following Coast Live at 10 a.m.

Applicants will be asked to share:

• Name, age, occupation, and relationship status
• Personal backstory and fun facts
• Why Big Brother means so much to them
• Their favorite Big Brother game, dream prize, and what makes them an ideal Houseguest

Before arriving, participants are encouraged to:

• Visit WTKR.com to review eligibility requirements
• Print, complete, and bring the required waiver and release form
• Bring a valid ID (must be 18+ to participate)

Walk-ins are welcome and encouraged throughout the day. Applicants are advised to arrive early, as capacity may be limited.
