Rivers Casino Named A “Healthiest Employer” In Western Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh Business Times Honors Rivers for Employee Health Initiatives 

PITTSBURGH — June 10, 2016 — Rivers Casino has been named a “Healthiest Employer” by the Pittsburgh Business Times on the publication’s annual list. The “Healthiest Employer” program features workplaces of all sizes that strive for excellence and a positive impact on employee lifestyle by providing health-focused benefits and initiatives to team members.

Workplaces in the running to be named a “Healthiest Employer” are assessed by criteria including general demographics, culture and leadership commitment, strategic planning, marketing and communications, programming, reporting and more. Rivers, among other local businesses, was honored at a special event held at the Omni William Penn Hotel yesterday, June 9.

Among Rivers’ health-focused initiatives include participation in the Healthy Wage Challenge. Rivers Casino Team Members and their friends and families competed in a friendly weight-loss initiative for a chance to win cash prizes. More than 130 participants took part in the challenge and lost a collective weight of more than 1,400 pounds.

Rivers Casino has also been voted by its employees a “Top Workplace” in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, as well as a “Best Place to Work” in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
