The Whispers Will ‘Rock Steady’ This Holiday Season In Fishtown

R&B icons bring No.1 hits to Rivers Casino Philadelphia on Dec. 23

PHILADELPHIA — Sept. 18, 2023 — R&B fans will be movin’ and groovin’ when The Whispers brings its No. 1 hits to Fishtown this December. The legendary band, best known for its chart-topping singles, “And the Beat Goes On” and “Rock Steady,” comes to Rivers Casino on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 8 p.m. Tickets for The Event Center show start at $59 and will go on sale on Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m.

With a career spanning over five decades, The Whispers has solidified its status by having legendary performances in the world of R&B and soul music. Known for its members’ silky harmonies and smooth vocals, the group has scored eight Billboard Top 10 albums — with two of them, “The Whispers” and “Love Is Where You Find It,” having reached the No. 1 spot.

“If you love R&B, you won’t want to miss The Whispers perform this holiday season,” said Eric Althaus, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “Their timeless hits and unforgettable show will have guests on their feet in The Event Center.”

Twin brothers Walter and Wallace “Scotty” Scott are the lead vocalists who, along with Leaveil Degree, currently make up the band. The Whispers has earned two platinum and five gold albums and received multiple Grammy nominations. The group was inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.
