Rivers Casino Philadelphia Makes Annual Contribution to Penn Treaty Special Services District
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHILADELPHIA — Dec. 5, 2025 — Rivers Casino presented its annual contribution to the Penn Treaty Special Services District during a reception at the casino on Thursday, Dec. 4. Rivers’ all-time contributions to the organization now total $13.2 million over the past 16 years.
Rivers’ latest contribution signals the continuation of a commitment from the casino to support the growth and development of its surrounding neighborhoods. In a renewed agreement, which runs through 2040, Rivers Casino Philadelphia has pledged $11.25 million to Penn Treaty SSD over the next 15 years.
This year’s $750,000 contribution will again benefit residents of Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Olde Richmond and South Kensington through grants made to community organizations in the neighborhoods surrounding the casino. Through Penn Treaty SSD, recipient organizations sponsor neighborhood festivals and community gatherings; make physical improvements to parks, playgrounds, gardens and other infrastructure; and operate arts, sports, education and recreation programs.
Rivers Casino has contributed to Penn Treaty SSD every year since 2009, a year before the gaming and entertainment complex opened in 2010.
“Rivers Casino Philadelphia values its long-standing partnership with the Penn Treaty Special Services District, whose work continues to strengthen and uplift our neighboring communities,” said Scott Lokke, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “We’re grateful for the meaningful impact the Penn Treaty SSD delivers every day, and we’re proud to support our shared mission.”
Over the past 15 years, Penn Treaty SSD has approved more than 968 grant applications from over 176 community organizations. Included among the wide range of charitable work funded are Thanksgiving meal distributions by Lutheran Settlement House and South Kensington Community Partners.
Northern Liberties Neighbors Association, St. Laurentius School, Photography Without Borders and Friends of Hackett Elementary School are examples of the hundreds of local organizations that receive support from Penn Treaty SSD.
“We’re grateful that Rivers Casino continues to honor its long-standing commitment to investing in our community,” said Juliette Cook, chair of the Penn Treaty Special Services District board. “Its annual contribution allows the Penn Treaty SSD to advance programs and improvements that have real and lasting impact.”
