Jazz Icon George Benson Is Coming To Rivers Casino Philadelphia

JAZZ ICON GEORGE BENSON IS COMING TO RIVERS CASINO PHILADELPHIA

10-time Grammy-winner takes The Event Center stage on Aug. 11

PHILADELPHIA — March 28, 2022 — Iconic guitarist, vocalist and songwriter George Benson and his recognizable jazz sound will entertain guests at Rivers Casino Philadelphia on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 8 p.m. Benson has the rare distinction of being in the pop consciousness while remaining in the pantheon of jazz greats. Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 1, at 10 a.m. and start at $75.

Benson is a 10-time Grammy-winning performer and a pioneering jazz-soul guitarist and singer whose talents also span pop, rock, funk, and disco genres. Across his six-decade career, Benson has recorded 36 studio albums, highlighted by “Give Me The Night,” and “Breezin,’” one of the bestselling jazz albums of all time.

“Jazz fans are in for a real treat,” said Justin Moore, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “George Benson is legendary, and guests will be mesmerized by someone who was born to perform on stage.”

Benson walks the delicate balance between being a consummate performer and being an adventurous instrumentalist. He remains an annual must-see artist who often sells out such hallowed venues as the Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Benson has been awarded the NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship — the highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists — and he’s earned a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
