PITTSBURGH March 31, 2016 — Rivers Casino and the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) announced today that $4.5 million from Rivers has been put toward construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center.

Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA, with installments occurring in April and October. To date, Rivers has generated $52.5 million to help fund construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center, one of the city’s premier entertainment venues and home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Rivers Casino will have contributed $225 million to the SEA for CONSOL Energy Center’s construction by the time the agreement concludes in 2038.

“We’re pleased to do our part in making CONSOL Energy Center a leading entertainment destination in Pittsburgh,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. “The funds generated from this partnership will continue to make CONSOL a great place to celebrate and an excellent home for the Pittsburgh Penguins.”

Rivers Casino generates approximately $161 million each year for various organizations across Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth, including Pittsburgh’s economic development and tourism fund.

“Rivers Casino continues to demonstrate its commitment to being a good corporate citizen. Its positive impact is felt throughout the City of Pittsburgh,” said Wayne Fontana, chairman of the SEA and Pennsylvania State Senator.
