RIVERS CASINO WINS SIX ROMERO AWARDS

Team Members honored for excellence in casino marketing

PITTSBURGH July 28, 2017 — Rivers Casino received six awards of excellence from Casino Journal as part of the Casino Marketing & Technology Conference in Las Vegas. The Romero Awards were created to honor gaming operators who conduct effective, measurable and accountable casino marketing programs. The awards were presented during the 2017 Romero Awards breakfast on Thursday, July 20.

A panel of expert judges selected winners in a variety of marketing categories and acknowledged their expertise with Diamond, Gold or Silver Awards and special recognition given to honorable mentions. The award categories included “online marketing,” “casino floor promotions,” “electronic marketing” and other important marketing classifications.

Rivers won the top honor of a Diamond Award in the “online marketing” category for the “Brains vs. Artificial Intelligence: Upping the Ante” event, which saw a supercomputer developed by Carnegie Mellon University beat four professional poker players. The competition was streamed live on Twitch, and resulted in the largest web traffic increase in RiversCasino.com history.

In the “casino floor promotion” category, Rivers Casino won two Gold Awards for the “Queen of Hearts” and “Pittsburgh Penguins Golden Ticket” promotions, as well as an honorable mention for the “Mad Money Mania” program. Rivers took a Silver Award in the “electronic marketing” category for the “My Rush Rewards” player recognition program. The casino was also distinguished with an honorable mention in the “VIP promotions” category for its “12 Days of Holiday” campaign.
