Rivers Casino To Host Second Annual “Cookie Table Recipe Contest”

North Shore hot spot honors Pittsburgh wedding tradition with baking competition

PITTSBURGH — July 16, 2018 — Pittsburgh’s premier wedding venue is reaching into the cookie jar again this summer. After a successful debut year, the Wedding Services Team at Rivers Casino is holding its second city-wide “Cookie Table Recipe Contest.”

Every Pittsburgher knows a ‘Burgh wedding is only complete with a cookie table, featuring crumbly confections from handed-down recipes created by family and friends. Does your cookie recipe have what it takes? Contest entries will be accepted online at RiversCookieTable.com from July 16 to Aug. 31, 2018.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from Pittsburgh’s food community, in addition to the executive chefs at Rivers Casino. Twenty-four finalists will be selected to bake and deliver their cookies to Rivers for a taste test. Twelve lucky winners will be selected and their recipes will be featured as a month in the “2019 Rivers Casino Cookie Table Calendar.”

Winning applicants will earn ultimate cookie clout, $100 Free Slot Play, 10 calendars, brunch for two at the award-winning Grand View Buffet and additional prizes. Only one entry is allowed per contestant, and all submissions must be entered by midnight on August 31.

“Last year’s contest was even better than we expected,” said vice president of food and beverage at Rivers Casino, Andrea Kleinrock-Marmion. “The cookie recipes submitted were unbelievable. We love Pittsburgh traditions, and this contest is the perfect way to pay homage to the cookie table!”

Starting July 16, participants can log on to RiversCookieTable.com to fill out an online entry and submit their cookie recipe. Be sure to include ingredients and step-by-step instructions, the details on why it deserves to win— and of course, a photo of you and your cookie.

This year’s cookie champions will be announced in the fall, and the 2019 Rivers Casino Cookie Table Calendar will debut by yearend 2018.
