Rivers Casino Receives Four Romero Awards

Casino Team Members Recognized for Outstanding Marketing Initiatives

PITTSBURGH — Aug. 15, 2016 — Rivers Casino took home four honors in the 2016 Romero Award program for excellence in casino marketing. The winners were announced at the annual Casino Marketing & Technology Conference in Las Vegas.

Rivers received two Gold distinctions in the categories of “Online Marketing” and “Casino Floor Promotions.” Rivers Casino’s promotion of its “Brains vs. Artificial Intelligence” event, which pitted Carnegie Mellon University supercomputer “Claudico” against four professional poker players, as well as the casino’s progressive promotion with the champion Pittsburgh Penguins, were both recognized as award-winning initiatives. Additionally, the casino received honorable mentions in the “Casino Floor Promotions” and “Electronic Marketing” categories.
