Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s Rivers Gives Team Partners With A Giving Heart for November Service Day
Casino Team Members set to help local nonprofit with painting project

PITTSBURGH — Nov. 19, 2024 — On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s Rivers Gives team will head to the Childcare and Adult Learning Center of the nonprofit A Giving Heart to lend a hand with painting and refreshing the facility.

From 9 a.m. to noon, casino volunteers will be hard at work, assisting the A Giving Heart team in transforming the center into a vibrant, welcoming environment for the children and adults it serves.

A Giving Heart is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization focused on helping families with children meet some of their day-to-day challenges by providing them with essential services and a supportive community.

The primary purpose of A Giving Heart is to provide families and their children with an enriching environment where they’re supported and enabled to thrive. Services and programs offered by A Giving Heart include homework help, recreational activities, exercise, meal plans and more.

“We’re very thankful at A Giving Heart for the support we receive from engaged local partners like Rivers,” said Kristee Cammack, president and CEO of A Giving Heart. “With the casino’s volunteers joining our team for the day, we’re able to make an even stronger impact in our community.”

Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program, in which casino staffers report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor.

In October, Rivers Gives volunteers participated in WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up, a program focused on shuttling community members in need to a local retailer to stock up on essential winter outerwear for the cold season ahead.
