RIVERS CASINO PARTNERS WITH THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY FOR NEW DEALER SCHOOL

Registration is Open for Courses in One of Pittsburgh’s Fastest-Growing Careers

PITTSBURGHFeb. 25, 2016 — Rivers Casino announced today a partnership with the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), where the casino has assisted in the establishment of a new dealer school. Those looking to start a career in the fast-paced and growing casino industry can sign up for certification courses in blackjack, craps, roulette and other banked games.

Classes vary in hours, sessions, dates and cost to fit the needs of any prospective student. Graduates of the blackjack course are eligible for potential employment at Rivers Casino, with the opportunity to learn other table games in future courses.

“Forging this partnership with CCAC represents not only a chance to collaborate with a highly respected educational institution, but also an opportunity to grow our team and help current Team Members thrive,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino.

The first CCAC dealer classes are now open for registration:

  • Blackjack: Feb. 29—March 24 and April 25—May 20
  • Craps: Feb. 29—April 22
  • Other banked games: May 23—June 6
  • Roulette: June 13—July 1

“CCAC is delighted to partner with Rivers Casino to provide this in-demand dealer training program—one that will prepare the residents of our region for a dynamic career in the fast-growing gaming industry,” said Patricia Friedrich, project director for CCAC’s Casino School and a member of the college’s Workforce Development team.

The dealer school space, formerly CCAC’s campus bookstore, has undergone a full renovation to support courses covering the entire table game repertoire.
