Rivers Casino Launches Cookie Table Recipe Contest

Pittsburgh’s casino pays homage to local wedding traditions with sweet payoff

PITTSBURGH — May 31, 2017 — Pittsburgh’s newest wedding venue has something sugary up its sleeve this summer. The Wedding Services Team at Rivers Casino is holding its first-ever, city-wide “Cookie Table Recipe Contest.”

Entries are being accepted online at www.riverscasino.com from June 1-August 31, 2017, the peak wedding months of summer. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from Pittsburgh’s food community, and 12 lucky winners and their recipes will be selected and featured for a month in the “2018 Rivers Casino Cookie Table Calendar.” Winning entrants will earn bragging rights for at least a year, $500 Free Slot Play, dinner for four at Andrew’s Steak & Seafood and additional prizes.

Pittsburghers know a wedding isn’t complete without a cookie table that features tasty treats from handed-down recipes created by family and friends. The “Cookie Table Recipe Contest” allows everyone to submit a favorite recipe to be judged by the executive chefs at Rivers Casino and other members of Pittsburgh’s food community. Only one entry is allowed per contestant, and all entries must be submitted online by midnight on August 31.

“It’s always fun to watch the families and friends of the bridal party try to compete for the most creative and spectacular cookie displays,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino.

Starting June 1, log on to www.riverscasino.com/pittsburgh/recipecontest to fill out an online entry and submit your cookie recipe. Be sure to include a photo of you and your cookie and explain why it deserves to win.

The winners will be announced this fall, and the 2018 Rivers Casino Cookie Table Calendar will debut by yearend 2017.
