Rivers Casino Community Champions To Practice Relief Efforts
Casino Team Members Partner with Center for Victims for this month’s service project
PITTSBURGH — March 29, 2017 — On Friday, March 31, the Rivers Casino Community Champions will embark on a service project in conjunction with the Center for Victims to support those that have been afflicted by violent crimes.
For 42 years, the Center for Victims has been an innovative leader in the field of victim services, offering assistance and support to victims of crime and their families. More than 15,000 victims of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, homicide and other serious crimes are assisted by the Center of Victims each year. Outreach programs serve to educate the community about proper preventative measures and reach an additional 30,000 victims each year.
“The Center for Victims has been a recognizable force in providing exceptional care to victims of crime,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community development at Rivers Casino. “They continue to be an excellent resource for community education and to assist them in their work is a privilege that we’re proud to have.”
The Community Champions will spend the day working with the Center for Victims team, offering relief efforts to some of Pittsburgh’s most affected individuals.
“It’s through volunteer efforts like the Rivers Casino Community Champions that help to spread our message throughout the community,” said Fran Trimpey, director of development at the Center for Victims. “We appreciate their help in continuing our mission.”
This volunteer effort is a part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Most recently, the Rivers Casino Community Champions completed a service project with Life’sWork.
