Casino Team Partners with Larimer Consensus Group’s Green Team and Redd Up on June 28

PITTSBURGH — June 27, 2016 —The Rivers Casino Community Champions will help the Larimer Consensus Group (LCG)’s Larimer Green Team and Redd Up with several landscaping projects at various East End locations, in support of LCG’s “Love Your Block” initiative on June 28.

LCG works to improve and transform Larimer and surrounding communities from the inside to the outside. The goal of LCG is to promote positive change by working together and creating a sense of community that residents can thrive on. The Larimer Green Team and Redd Up are two of five action teams that are part of the LCG community focused on the cleaning, greening and beautification of public spaces.

“We are looking forward to cleaning up our neighborhood as part of the ‘Love Your Block’ program,” said Carolyn Peeks of the Larimer Consensus Group. “The Rivers Casino Community Champions are great teammates and share our dedication to the Pittsburgh community.”

“Love Your Block” is an effort organized by the Larimer Green Team to enhance vacant lots in the Pittsburgh community with flowers and fresh landscaping.

“The Larimer Green Team has put together a wonderful program with ‘Love Your Block’ and we are excited to support them this month,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community development at Rivers Casino.

This volunteer effort is a part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Last month, the Community Champions partnered with the Brighton Heights Citizens Federation, the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works and Trail Pittsburgh to help restore the Brighton Woods Park Trail Connection to Riverview Park. In 2015, Team Members donated more than 1,000 hours through the Community Champions program.
