RIVERS CASINO COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS SPREAD THE LOVE WITH LIFE’SWORK
Casino Team Members support local charity by donating their time and talents

PITTSBURGHFeb. 22, 2018 — The Rivers Casino Community Champions are partnering with Life’sWork to give back to the community on Wednesday, Feb. 28 for a day of service. Team Members will donate their time to assist the staff as they paint the first and second floors of the Life’sWork facility located on Forbes Avenue.

Life’sWork of Western Pa. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the quality of life for people with disabilities and those with barriers to employment through productive occupation opportunities. Recently, Life’sWork celebrated 90 years of championing the cause for individuals living with disabilities. More than 100,000 individuals of all ages with disabilities or other employment barriers have utilized Life'sWork to achieve independence and self-sufficiency.

“Life’sWork provides opportunity and employment to more than 2,000 adults and youth a year,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino. “We are so grateful for the chance to assist this wonderful organization and help them achieve their mission.”

This volunteer opportunity is part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Most recently, the Rivers Casino Community Champions completed a service project with the Pittsburgh Project, where they transformed youth spaces in Pittsburgh’s Northside.

“With the positive attitude and smiles the Community Champions of Rivers Casino bring, there’s no doubt they will brighten up our facility,” said Tasha Pokrzywa, director of marketing and development at Life’sWork. “The Life’sWork crew and Rivers Casino Team Members are true difference makers in our community.”
