Rivers Casino Community Champions Bring Holiday Cheer To Veterans

Casino Team Members Delivered Care Packages with the American Red Cross

PITTSBURGH — Dec. 18, 2015 —The Rivers Casino Community Champions visited the Southwestern Veterans’ Center to hand out care packages to local veterans this week as part of the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces program.

The Southwestern Veterans’ Center provides a broad spectrum of health care and related services to veterans who are disabled, chronically ill or in need of special care.

The American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of the armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving CPR and First Aid skills and more.

“We look forward to supporting our veterans throughout the year, but it’s especially meaningful for the Community Champions to help out during the holiday season,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community development at Rivers Casino.

This volunteer effort is a part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Most recently, the Rivers Casino Community Champions completed a service project with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
