Rivers Casino And Pirates Charities Name Manchester Citizens Corporation Charity Partner For 50/50 Raffle
Community Development Organization to Receive Funds Generated at Sept. 12 Game
PITTSBURGH — September 10, 2015 — On Saturday, Sept. 12, Pittsburgh Pirates fans who participate in the Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle will help support one of the nation’s oldest community development organizations. Rivers Casino, in partnership with the Pirates Charities, has named the Manchester Citizens Corporation (MCC) as the charity partner for the Sept. 12 50/50 Raffle. The game begins at 7:05 p.m., when the Pirates will take on the Milwaukee Brewers.
“We want to thank the fans, Pirates Charities and Rivers Casino for this tremendous opportunity,” said LaShawn Burton-Faulk, executive director of the MCC. “The money generated from the 50/50 Raffle will help fulfill vital community projects happening throughout the Manchester neighborhood.”
The MCC links historic preservation with economic development in the Manchester neighborhood. The organization has a track record of leveraging resources to create housing units for Pittsburgh residents.
“The Rivers Casino team is committed to supporting organizations such as the MCC that directly impact our local community,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino.
Tickets can be purchased at any of the four 50/50 Raffle kiosks or from a 50/50 Raffle seller roaming throughout the ballpark. Just keep a look out for the bright green aprons. Fans can purchase three tickets for $5, 10 tickets for $10 or 40 tickets for $20.
“The 50/50 Raffle is very important to our charitable efforts,” said Patty Paytas, Pirates Charities Executive Director. “We are very appreciative to our friends at Rivers Casino for sponsoring the raffle throughout the 2015 season. We’ll look forward to joining them on Saturday night to raise funds for Manchester Citizens Corporation.”
Tickets will be sold from the time gates open through the last out of the sixth inning and the winning fan will be selected at the top of the seventh inning. Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle is open to all ticket holders at Pittsburgh Pirates home games, age 18 or older.
