Summer Comedy Series Features a Variety of Acts Including Local Talent

PITTSBURGH — May 30, 2017 — Pittsburgh’s premier casino debuts a new stand-up comedy series “A Funny Thing Happened at Rivers Casino,” on Thursdays this summer from June 15-July 20.

The stand-up comedy acts will be presented in Wheelhouse Bar & Grill and hosted by local comedian T-Robe. Tony “T-Robe” Roberson got his start in comedy by wowing crowds at open mics and in local bars. Since then, T-Robe has shared the stage with several film and television stars.

This summer’s comedy lineup features local talent, as well as comedians who perform around the country, including:

  • June 15: Ed Bailey and Matt Light
  • June 22: Ray Zawodni and Aaron Kleiber
  • June 29: Lisa Dapprich and John Evans
  • July 6: Day Bracey and Matt Wohlfarth
  • July 13: J Russ and Mike Jones
  • July 20: Terry Jones and Bill Crawford

Each night’s comedy act begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost $20, which includes $10 Free Slot Play or Match Play. Visit www.riverscasino.com or the gift shop to purchase tickets.

“There’s no better way to balance life than sharing some laughs with friends at a night of comedy,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. “This is a great example of the many forms of entertainment available to our guests.”

This summer, Rivers Casino will host a variety of entertainment options at its amphitheater along the Ohio River. The free concert series “Live on the River” returns this summer, featuring popular local and regional bands. Rivers is also hosting a special ticketed concert with Donnie Iris and The Cruisers on Saturday, July 29, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the Donnie Iris and The Cruisers concert cost $20 and include $10 Free Slot Play or Match Play. The popular, fast-paced Rivers Rumble Boxing returns this summer with a full card of action-packed boxing on June 24 and August 12. Rivers Rumble Boxing tickets start at $30 per date and include $10 Free Slot Play or Match Play.
