MARTORANO’S PRIME DEBUTS AT RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH
A rare occasion indeed—new Italian-American Steakhouse now open Wednesday-Sunday at 5 p.m.

PITTSBURGH — Jan. 7, 2021 — Celebrity cook Steve Martorano has opened his first-ever Italian-American Steakhouse concept at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. "Martorano’s Prime" will launch its first weekend service this Friday, January 8. Martorano’s Prime is open Wednesday-Sunday at 5 p.m. Reservations are available via Open Table or by phone.

Martorano’s Prime features elevated Italian-American cuisine, prime cuts of beef and other high-end steakhouse staples. Among many culinary accolades, Gourmet magazine called Martorano’s meatballs the best in the world. Martorano’s restaurants elsewhere have become equally famous for attracting celebrity clientele, and Steve himself is a favorite guest on morning news and late-night TV shows.

Pennsylvania is familiar territory to this renowned cook, who greets everybody with "Yo Cuz!" and still works in his own kitchens. "I’m South Philly born and raised," said Steve Martorano. "I learned to cook at my grandma’s elbow, and a lot of our menu is built on those family recipes. We’re beyond excited to open our first Italian-American steakhouse at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh."

Diners at Martorano’s Prime at Rivers Casino can expect to find Martorano’s Famous Meatballs, Handmade Fresh Mozzarella, and a delectable Eggplant Stack among the menu’s antipasti lineup. Linguine & Clams—Steve’s personal favorite, a dish he prepared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!—tops the menu of pasta dishes, along with Bucatini Carbonara, and Spaghetti & Meatballs. First-cut prime veal chops, 16-Ounce New York Strip Martorano, and Lobster Francaise are likely head-turners for traditional steakhouse fans. All dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and on site. For a complete menu, visit RiversCasino.com.

The opening of Martorano’s Prime brings 50 new food and beverage jobs to Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, following a difficult year of restaurant closings locally and nationally.

Steve Martorano’s portfolio of restaurants includes locations in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida—where the flagship "Cafe Martorano" recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Martorano has published two cookbooks: "Yo Cuz! My Life, My Food, My Way" and "It Ain’t Sauce, It’s Gravy."

Besides an acclaimed menu, the guest experience at Martorano’s is known for transitioning as the evening unfolds, from after-work business dinners and special occasions, to date-night and late-night dining. Themed movies and music play on screens and speakers throughout the restaurant.

"Martorano’s is one of those places where you keep talking about the amazing Italian food and dining experience for days and weeks later," said Rivers Casino General Manager Bill Keena. "Introducing prime-cut steaks and skyline views of Pittsburgh … that’s what makes this unique to Rivers."

Martorano’s Prime is located on the riverfront side of the casino, featuring panoramic views of the Ohio River, Mt. Washington and the Point. Stylish interiors of high-polished steel and marble combine with luxurious light leathers and woods, to create a contemporary contrast of industrial and chic. A generous, circular central bar, with elegant wines on display, sets the tone for a high-end dining experience. The Martorano’s Prime entrance is accessible only from the gaming floor. All guests must be at least 21 years old.

Due to COVID-19, restaurants in Allegheny County are currently operating indoor dining at 50% capacity. The 5,400 square foot restaurant is designed to eventually accommodate 159 guests but will serve only 60 for now. Tables at Martorano’s Prime are arranged for social distancing and set with a limited number of seats.

Air filtration runs 24/7, surfaces are sanitized frequently, and common areas are deep cleaned daily. Restaurant staff and guests must wear masks—except while eating or drinking—and temperatures are checked upon arrival at the casino. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are available throughout the property.
