PITTSBURGH — April 11, 2018 — One of Pittsburgh’s premier wedding venues will be opening its doors for an exclusive experience in May. Rivers Casino is hosting a Royal Wedding Watch Party to celebrate the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the morning of Saturday, May 19.

With its floor-to-ceiling skyline and riverfront views, in-house pastry chef and full-service banquet kitchen, a Rivers Casino wedding is truly fit for a king—or in this case, a prince and princess.

How to put your name in the fascinator

To earn an exclusive invitation to this alluring affair, guests must engage in a social media contest beginning Monday, April 16, through Friday, May 4. Participants may submit their entry via Facebook @riverscasinopgh or Twitter @WinBigRivers, offering their best response to this query:

“Royal watchers and wedding lovers, if your invitation to the Royal Wedding got lost in the mail, it’s not too late! In 100 words or less, tell us why you’re ‘worthy’ of Rivers Casino’s Royal Wedding viewing party. And, tally ho, to our North Shore palace you may go.”

A panel of Pittsburgh’s top wedding planners will select 50 winners to receive two tickets each to attend.

We know you’re coming, so we baked THE cake

Thanks to the five-hour time difference, winners will arrive at 6:30 a.m. Eastern time to a traditional English breakfast spread. Screens around the room will air the live ceremony at 7 a.m., immediately followed by a customary English brunch of sausage, baked beans, fried eggs, black pudding, grilled tomatoes and more.  

The buzzworthy royal wedding cake of lemon and elderflower will be recreated by Chef MeeMee, Rivers Casino’s in-house pastry chef.

A special guest with a surprising resemblance to a member of the Royal Family will be in attendance to knight all attendees, cut the wedding cake and pose for cell-phone portraits—in her throne.
