Rivers Casino Pittsburgh's Rivers Gives Team Visits Community Kitchen Pittsburgh for Day of Service
Rivers marks halfway point of 30-year agreement to fund PPG Paints Arena

PITTSBURGH — April 1, 2024 — Members of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s Rivers Gives team are set to volunteer with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh today, from 9 a.m. to noon. Team Members will devote their time to packaging ready-to-go meals for local youth facing hardship, in support of CKP’s mission of providing healthy food to those in need.

CKP uses food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities by providing culinary training and opening career pathways to individuals who experience barriers to employment. CKP operates with the idea that every person who comes through their doors is inherently worthy and has the potential to reach and exceed their goals, regardless of their past or present. CKP works to provide opportunities for success and lifelong careers to their individual clients.

Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program, in which casino staffers report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor. In January, Rivers Gives volunteers also worked with Northside Common Ministries assisting with food preparation and distribution.
