Mississippi Stud is one of the most exciting table games at our Philly casino as it offers the chance to maximize your wager once you're in a can’t lose situation. The game is played against a pay table, not against a dealer or other players. This gives the game a fun, communal atmosphere. To begin, players make an ante wager and are dealt two cards. Players use those cards with three community cards (cards that all players at the table can use) to make a five-card poker hand. There is a catch however: players have to match their ante wager either 1x, 2x, or 3x per community card. Once all the community cards are dealt, the dealer will evaluate every player's hands against a pay table. Players have to have a pair of sixes or higher to push (neither win nor lose) and jacks or better to win. The good news is that because players have the option to increase their bet with each community card dealt, players are able to maximize their wagers once they are in a guaranteed no-lose situation. Typically players who are dealt a pair of sixes or higher will max out their wagers (3x for each of the three community cards) since there is no way they can lose on the hand!
