Louisiana Stud

Louisiana Stud is a five-card poker game that deals each Player’s two-cards and combines them with 3- Community cards to make a five-card poker hand. Winning hands are based on a pay table and the skill is determining how much to raise, or fold, after receiving the initial two cards, and then as each Community card is revealed. Louisiana Stud uses a standard 52-card deck.

How to Play Louisiana Stud

Interested in learning how to play Louisiana Stud ? Read the rules below.

The object of the game is to make a winning five card poker hand by a player using a combination of their two cards and the three community cards in the center of the layout.

The player begins by making a mandatory ANTE wager. Optionally, the player may also place a 3 UP Bonus side wager and 5 Card Stax Progressive wager. Each player is then dealt two cards face-down followed by 3-Community face down cards.

After examining their cards, The Player then decides to fold or make a ‘1st Raise’ wager of one to three times the Ante. If the Player decides to fold, the Player forfeits the Ante. If the Player folds, the Dealer will lock main game wagers up and place the Player two-cards face down under the 3-UP Bonus side wager to indicate the Player still has action on the 3-Up Bonus side wager and/or 5 Card Stax Progressive wager. The 3-Up Bonus side wager and/or 5 Card Stax Progressive wager will remain active for the entirety of the game regardless of if a player folds at any time during the game.

After all Players make their 1st raise, the Dealer will turn over the 1st Community card. The Player then decides to fold or make a ‘2nd Raise’ wager of one to three times the Ante. If the Player folds, the Player forfeits the Ante, and 1st Raise wager.

Once all Players make their 2nd raise, the Dealer will turn over the 2nd Community card. The Player then decides to fold or make a ‘3rd Raise’ wager of one to three times the Ante. If the Player folds, the Player forfeits the Ante, and 1st& 2nd Raise wagers. After all Players make their 3rd Raise, the Dealer will turn over the 3rd and final Community card.

The 3-UP Bonus side wager is resolved immediately before opening any hands, regardless of Player fold decisions, and is evaluated based on the 3-Community cards only. See posted pay table. Once all 3-Up Bonus side wagers have been resolved, the Dealer will begin settling the Players main game wagers accordingly to the posted pay table and follow house rules for pays/takes/pushes sequences.
