LIFE’SWORK HONORS RIVERS CASINO WITH JAMES F. COMPTON HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Businesses and Community Leaders to be Recognized at A White House Dinner in Pittsburgh™

PITTSBURGH Nov. 4, 2015 — Rivers Casino has been named the 2015 recipient of the James F. Compton Humanitarian Award, which is given for exemplary commitment to providing employment opportunities for people living with disabilities. The award will be presented by Life’sWork of Western PA on Nov. 5 at the Southpointe Hilton Garden Inn.

“This award is a testament to our entire HR team’s commitment to helping Rivers be a good corporate citizen,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. “We’re very proud of our partnership with Life’sWork and other local community organizations.”

Life’sWork is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the quality of life of persons with disabilities and others with barriers to employment through productive employment opportunities.

The award presentation will take place at A White House Dinner in Pittsburgh, a fundraising gala to honor businesses and community leaders who have furthered the lives of people with disabilities or other employment barriers. The event is modeled as a re-creation of an actual State Dinner held at The White House. An exquisite four-course meal will be prepared by Chef John Moeller, former White House Chef who served during the presidencies of President George H.W. Bush, President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush. A cocktail hour will take place at 6 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner at 7 p.m.

“We applaud Rivers for their ongoing efforts to provide productive job opportunities to persons with disabilities and barriers to employment,” said Geoffrey Stillson, president and CEO of Life’sWork. “The Rivers team is truly dedicated to our community and is well deserving of this recognition.”
